The Long Weekend is out. Where Boulevard Kids made its point in seventy-one seconds and stopped, this one does the opposite: it takes its time.
Three days, one feeling
A long weekend has a shape that a normal weekend does not. Friday evening still belongs to the week that just ended. Saturday is the only day that is entirely its own. By Sunday you are already counting, and Monday off feels borrowed. The track follows that curve rather than a verse-chorus structure.
Musically that meant resisting the urge to drop early. The steel guitar carries the first half almost alone, and the electronic side arrives the way Saturday night arrives — not as a surprise, but as something you saw coming all day and still enjoyed.
Same method, different problem
The production ran the same loop described under Behind the AI: generate, listen, discard, generate again. The difficulty here was the opposite of the first single. Short tracks fail by being thin. Long tracks fail by being boring, and a generative model is very willing to keep going long after a piece has said everything it has to say.
Most of the rejected versions were not bad. They were simply longer than the idea justified.
